Use code chat

You can use CodeThread to make queries about your code as a way to gain understanding, or as a shortcut to creating new documentation sections for your file docs.

Ask a question about your code​

  • To ask CodeThread a question, type your question into the prompt box where it says “Ask anything about…” Once you’ve entered your question, click Ask.

  • If you do not wish to save the answer that CodeThread produces, click 1. Finish chat or press 1 to use the Keyboard Shortcut.

Generate a New Documentation Section from an Answer​

  • To add an answer that CodeThread provides from a query or quick command to the documentation, click "2. Create a new doc section". A prompt will appear to give the new section a name.

  • Enter a name for the section in the prompt and click 1. Add section

  • The new section will now appear above in the documentation with the name you provided as a Section Header.
