How do you use my code?

We infer information about your codebase and help you create useful informational resources such as documentation pages that can then be linked to your source files within CodeThread.

We do not store or log your code, but we do store the documentation that you create from it, and metadata that we generate such as dependency graphs of your code base.

What model does CodeThread use on the backend?

We currently use OpenAI’s GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 models. This is subject to change in future.

Does my data get sent to OpenAI?

Your queries and code are sent to OpenAI for processing, but it is not stored or used for training OpenAI’s models.

We use the OpenAI API for processing data, and in their terms they state, "OpenAI does not use data submitted to and generated by our API to train OpenAI models or improve OpenAI’s service offering."

You can view their terms at: https://help.openai.com/en/articles/5722486-how-your-data-is-used-to-improve-model-performance under the section labeled API.

Does my data get stored by OpenAI?

OpenAI states, “OpenAI may securely retain API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days to identify abuse.”

Again, your data will not be used by OpenAI to train models, it is only stored in logs retained for 30 days which is only accessed for misuse or abuse investigations.

Do you have SOC2 certification?

We are still a young company and are working towards our SOC2 certification. Please contact howard@codethread.ai if this is a blocker.
